Last updated: August 10, 2025
Homex Edu (“we,” “us,” “our”) provides e-commerce and provisioning services for school technology products and software. This Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your choices. By using our website, store, or services, you agree to this Policy.
1) What we collect
Information you provide
- Account and order data: name, school/district, job title, email, phone, billing/shipping address, purchase details, PO numbers.
- Support and RMA data: photos/videos and descriptions you submit for troubleshooting, refunds, or warranty.
- Verification data (EDU/reseller workflows): school domain, role, proof of affiliation, tax-exempt certificates.
- Payment data: we use third-party processors; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
Information we get automatically
- Device and usage data: IP address, browser, device type, pages viewed, referring URLs, timestamps.
- Cookies and similar tech: essential cookies (cart, session), analytics, and (where enabled) advertising/retargeting cookies.
Information from partners
- Fulfillment and logistics vendors (tracking numbers, delivery status).
- Software/OEM partners for license provisioning (admin contact, domain, SKU, seat counts).
- Fraud prevention and compliance tools (signals used to prevent abuse).
Sensitive categories we avoid
- We do not seek to collect student records or biometric templates. If you purchase biometric devices or tracking hardware, any personal or sensitive data processed by those products is handled within your environment or by the device/app provider, not by Homex Edu, unless you expressly engage us for support and provide limited data for that purpose.
2) How we use information
- To process orders, payments, provisioning, shipping, returns, and support.
- To verify eligibility for EDU pricing, promotions, or software licensing.
- To provide account notices, transactional emails, and service messages.
- To operate, secure, and improve our site and services (fraud prevention, debugging, analytics).
- To market relevant products and bundles to school buyers (you can opt out).
Legal bases (EEA/UK users)
- Contract performance (processing your orders).
- Legitimate interests (fraud prevention, service improvement, B2B marketing).
- Consent (non-essential cookies, certain emails).
- Legal obligations (tax, compliance, export controls).
3) Sharing and disclosure
We share only as needed to run our business:
- Payment processors: to take payments securely.
- Shippers/fulfillment: to deliver your order and handle returns.
- Distributors/OEMs/Software providers: to provision licenses/hardware and provide support.
- IT/security providers: hosting, email, anti-fraud, analytics, error monitoring.
- Compliance: where required by law, regulation, subpoena, or to protect our rights and users.
We do not sell your personal information for money. We may “share” limited online identifiers with advertising or analytics partners for cross-context behavioral advertising where permitted.
4) Cookies and analytics
- Essential: session, cart, checkout.
- Performance/analytics: site usage, conversions, A/B tests.
- Advertising/retargeting: to show relevant ads to school buyers.
You can manage cookies via our banner and your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect site functionality.
5) Data for biometric and tracking products
- Biometric attendance devices: you are the controller of any biometric data collected by the device or your software. You must obtain required consents and comply with applicable laws. Homex Edu does not receive or store biometric templates in normal operations.
- Find-My/locator devices: location data flows through the device provider’s app and ecosystem. Review that provider’s privacy policy. Homex Edu sells the hardware and does not track your items.
6) Children’s privacy
Our store and services are directed to schools and adults acting on behalf of schools families, and teachers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have, we will delete it.
7) International transfers (U.S., Haiti, and other regions)
We process data primarily in the United States. If you are outside the U.S. (including Haiti), your information will be transferred to and stored in the U.S., which may have different data-protection laws. For Haiti hardware orders, see our shipping policy; software and remote onboarding are supported in Haiti.
8) Retention
We keep personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes above, including:
- Orders, tax, and accounting records: typically 7 years.
- Support/RMA records: typically 2–3 years after closure.
- Marketing data: until you opt out or after a defined inactivity period.
We may retain limited data to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements.
9) Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards (encryption in transit, access controls, logging, least-privilege). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10) Your choices & rights
Email preferences: unsubscribe links are in every marketing email. Transactional and service emails will still be sent.
Cookies/ads: adjust in the cookie banner or your browser. For interest-based ads, you may opt out via platform settings.
U.S. (California/CPRA): California residents can request access, deletion, correction, and to opt out of “sale”/“sharing” for cross-context advertising. We will verify your request and respond within statutory timelines.
EEA/UK: you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority.
Submit privacy requests by email or phone.
11) Third-party sites and services
Links to OEM portals, app stores, software providers, or carriers are governed by their privacy policies. Review those policies especially for software provisioning, device apps, and license activation.
12) Changes to this policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Your continued use of our services after a change means you accept the updated Policy.
